Born in Zurich, Switzerland, Fabienne began her performing career at four years old. Starting in a children’s dance group and as an equilibrist at the circus, her talents soon expanded to include ice skating, ballet, ballroom dancing, piano, and singing. By age 15, she had won numerous awards and reached the National Dancesport Championship final in the Adult League as the youngest finalist in history.
With an IT diploma, a business management education and fashion design training under her belt, at 18, Fabienne moved to London to pursue her professional ballroom dance career. Always the entrepreneur, Fabienne parallel co-founded her first company Swiss Web Marketing and created her own fashion label FL Couture in order to finance her dance career with both, freelancing in marketing, web and graphic design, and selling dress designs and made-to-measure dresses through her online store to a clientele worldwide.
Fabienne earned the title of the multiple Swiss National Latin Dancesport Champion, became a multi-finalist at the French Open, German Open World Super Series, Romanian Open, Holland Masters, Belgium Open, Swiss Dancesport Festival, and a strong competitor in numerous international dance competitions, including the World and European Championships, Asian Open and British Open. Belonging to the World's top class, she got awarded six times by the Swiss Olympic Association for ’outstanding international high-ranked achievements’.
After retiring from her competitive dance career, Fabienne moved to Los Angeles and underwent training in voice and acting while working in Hollywood’s entertainment industry. Fabienne has choreographed and performed for American TV shows, including American Idol and Dancing with the Stars USA, worked with various celebrities, such as singer Gloria Estefan, percussionist Sheila E. (Prince, Lionel Richie, Beyoncé), TV host/judge Carrie Ann Inaba (Dancing with the Stars USA), TV/film producer Nigel Lythgoe (So You Can Think You Can Dance USA, American Idol), British music producer Mark Qura Rankin (Christina Aguilera), Emmy Award-winning choreographer Flii Stylz (Michael Jackson, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez), choreographer Aaron Cash (Titanic, Ballet Revolución, So You Think You Can Dance Australia), and TV show contestants (American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance USA), and modeled for French celebrity photographer Lionel Deluy (America’s Next Top Model, Vogue, GQ).
Despite multiple requests from TV shows (ABC Dancing with the Stars USA, BBC Strictly Come Dancing England, RTL Let’s Dance Germany) and fashion brands (i.a. Rock & Republic, American Apparel, Ed Hardy), Fabienne instead decided to shift her focus to teaching and her further development in technology and moved back to Switzerland. She opened the FABIENNE BOLSHOV® Dance Studio while parallel working in a corporate job as an IT-Specialist in web design, digital marketing, content, and social media management at the University of Zurich.
Yet, with all her life spent traveling, Fabienne realized that a location dependent life wasn’t right for her. Instead, she digitized her classes and training programs and founded the women empowering online school Fabylis®, with a portion of profits going toward girls’ education funds. Today, Fabienne runs her business venture location independent, traveling the world as a digital nomad while following her passions for dance, singing and songwriting.
